“Whether you enjoy your cinema in bite-sized pieces, or want to be a know-it-all at the annual Oscar party, this theatrical release of the nominated shorts should be on your radar. The films are divided into two separately screened programs by category, live action and animated. (Sorry, documentary short subject fans, this will have to tide you over.) Both lineups should prove entertaining, but we're particularly excited for big-screen viewing of the animated films — which include Pixar artist Enrico Casarosa's La Luna, Moonbot Studios' magical festival hit The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore, and a twofer from the National Film Board of Canada: Patrick Doyon's Dimanche and Wendy Tilby and Amanda Forbis' Wild Life.”
