“Those not ensconced in the subculture might not realize what a burlesque powerhouse Chicago has in Michelle L'amour. From her tireless festival appearances and organizations to the devilishly fun (and fairly self-explanatory) Naked Girls Reading series, the Queen of Burlesque 2005 is something of a tasseled Midas. For the new Big Sexy Show, L'amour returns again to the Music Box, bringing with her a diverse supporting cast: synchronized ensemble the Chicago Starlets (World's Best Burlesque Group, 2010), getting your feather boa in a knot with two premiere group acts; old timey vaudeville duo Parker and Seville for comic relief; and — perhaps most unexpectedly — local beatbox wunderkind Yuri Lane (From Tel Aviv to Ramallah) for a pinch of contemporaneity.”
