“The pop cycle is hard on all career artists, but it can be doubly difficult for hip-hop acts to maintain longevity — while the new-now impulse fuels innovation, it can leave even legends to fend on the margins. Still, the true greats know how to press on. We recommend this old-school hip-hop revue with the same caveats we would any oldies-circuit tour, but with Rock the Bells several months and countless miles away, Legends of Hip-Hop is flashing pretty strong appeal right now.
