“One of Charlie Murphy's first jobs was acting as bodyguard for his younger brother, comedian Eddie. He ended up following his brother into acting, playing himself on Chappelle's Show. He was walloped on the basketball court by Prince (played by Dave Chappelle in eyeliner) and repeatedly b*tch-slapped in a club by Rick James (played by Chappelle in a wig and golden grill). Since the show signed off in 2006, Murphy's been getting the last laugh as an acclaimed stand-up comedian, co-headlining with the likes of Mike Epps and Joe Rogan. This evening marks the beginning of his three-night run at Chicago Improv. "Hey Charlie Murphy, what did the five fingers say to the face?" Slap!”
