One of the key narratives in modern music is the transatlantic volley between America and Europe, each side reinterpreting and lobbing back the other's musical vision. In the music-driven biographical production Long Gone Lonesome, the National Theatre of Scotland dramatizes one of the age-old game's rediscovered players, Thomas Fraser, a timid fisherman from the Shetland Isles who recorded a trove of American country and blues — none of it widely circulated until well after his death in 1978. Just as the National Theatre of Scotland's Black Watch masterfully utilized the expansive Broadway Armory last year, expect the Hideout's roots-friendly digs to add a unique dimension.
