The sun continues to shine on fans of lo-fi Kiwi pop as Woollen Kits, one of the standouts from a new, burgeoning collective, hits Permanent Records on Wednesday afternoon and Crown Tap Room in the evening. The trio's just-released self-titled debut LP comes courtesy of RIP Society Records, the scene flagship that has also put forth exciting material from fellow Aussies (and recent Chicago visitors) UV Race and Royal Headache. The Kits' full-length entry is sweet-and-spiky neo-proto-punk, perfectly aligned with the band's own Modern Lovers comparisons. Enjoy the tuneful misshapes "Always" and "Out of Whack" before heading out.
