Fear not the Purple Line; the Block Museum at Northwestern University campus is always worth a hike. Block’s collection enjoys some of the most impressive works on paper to be seen in the Chicago area, and the museum dedicates space to remarkable, big-draw traveling exhibitions (Parks, Mapplethorpe) - not to mention the Miro and Hepworth-boasting scultpure garden. The student programmed Block Cinema is simply on Chicago’s great film spots, with art-house curios, small-run recent releases, and inspired double bills.
