Linking UIC to the broader West Loop arts district, Gallery 400 operates through academic channels, yet it feels like an independent, community-driven space. Exhibitions converge around contemporary art and architecture. Rigorous and stimulating though they are, don’t skip their excellent series: Voice Lecture offers excellent critical theory and practice discussion; and the At the Edge commissions have a track record of finding terrific rising talent.
