Intuitive, folk, outsider, art brut, raw: whatever you choose to call it, the Chicago area has a strangely rich tradition of “not your academy” art; and we’re lucky to have this truly unique little gallery devoted to self-taught artists, local and beyond, to go along with it. The permanent collection includes notables such as Wesley Willis, Joseph Yoakum, and William Hawkins; but aside from an always fascinating featured exhibition, Intuit is always worth a trip if only for the meticulous, must-see Henry Darger Room.
