In these post-Indie Comedy Boom days, comedy clubs get a bum rap; and, yes, the name “Zanie’s” doesn’t easily assuage visions of obnoxious hecklers emboldened by two-drink minimums. That prejudice would mean your loss, as some of the funniest comedians alive - Rob Riggle, Susie Essman, Norm MacDonald - routinely pass through. But the best gigs frequently come from lesser known comics - hungry and often on-the-cusp road-dogs developing their sets into finely phrased clockwork.
