Bryony Roberts is an artist and art writer currently living in New York. She graduated from Yale University in 2004 with a degree in studio art, and has spent the last four years making paintings and installations while working as the Deputy Editor of Artkrush magazine. As her installations became increasingly architectural, she decided to switch career paths and applied to graduate programs in architecture. She is currently working for Work Architecture Company on the summer canopy for the P.S.1 Young Architects Program. For her Explosions painting series, she combined her memories of growing up in Los Angeles with the specter of global terrorism. Examining representations of violence and giving form to personal paranoia, she mashed together realistic depictions of downtown Los Angeles and cartoon explosions.
