Doug Edge was born in Fennimore, Wisconsin, and now lives and works in Los Angeles. Edge was one of the first artists in Los Angeles to explore and then master the casting of resin polymers in the mid-1960's. He co-curated (along with Judy Chicago and DeWain Valentine) "The Last Plastics Show" at Cal Arts in 1972. Changing tastes (and health concerns) sent the artist in search of new materials and methods. The intervening years have seen Edge meticulously utilize wood, metal, plexiglass, and paint on canvas.
