The Icelandic Love Corporation is an artist collective composed of three artists: Sigrún Hrólfsdóttir, Jóni Jónsdóttir, and Eirún Sigurdardóttir. The group is currently based out of Reykjavik, Iceland. Since 1996, the three women have produced an impressive body of work that includes performance, sculptures, photographs, and video.
This image is a performance still of the ILC's piece Ashford Castle. Performed on location at Ashford Castle in Ireland in 2006, the work is "an adventure in modern times" and continues to be a work in progress. The ILC is responsible for all its own written music and costumes.
The work of the ILC was recently featured in a solo exhibition in 2007 at Hafnarhusid, a contemporary-art museum in Iceland. This year, its work was shown at ArdBia in Berlin, and, closer to home, was included in the From Another Shore: Recent Icelandic Art show at the Scandinavia House in New York.
