Jeff Bughouse's pop constructions are inspired by 1960s cartoons, vintage ephemera, electronic equipment, and nothing currently available. "I make, in a sense, one-panel comics orbiting the dark side of the moon that melt away in your brain like ice cream — with an after-taste of a Jimi Hendrix solo."

The humorous and graphic imagery is organically altered by their application on to recycled wood and metal. His custom furnishings such as faux representations of DJ turntables and vinyl records are meant to subvert the typical expectations placed on functional objects such as tables and lighting delivering a sense of wry humor and mystery.

Jeff Bughouse lives and works in Los Angeles. He graduated with a BFA from NYU. His design studio BUGHOUSE has originated campaigns for Fox, Universal, and Disney, and created 3D animations for the concert tours of Carrie Underwood and Barry Manilow. He has been featured in the Los Angeles Times and shown in numerous group exhibitions in Japan and the US.

Upcoming projects include installations at the new Grammy Museum in Los Angeles and future projects such as The Complete History of Music — Part One, a 60-foot installation of photographic images of 30,000 record album spines.
