Kent Rogowski
Cover for Issue 83
Miami
Issue 83 June 10, 2008

Kent Rogowski's works are provocative and whimsical manipulations of the everyday objects and images that surround us. From teddy bears to jigsaw puzzles to self-help books, he turns mass-produced goods into vehicles for self-expression. By transforming these generic objects into something personal, Rogowski questions what these products communicate and the roles they play in our culture.

In 2000, Rogowski received his MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, where he is now a Visiting Critic. His first book, Bears, was published by powerHouse Books in 2007. You can purchase the book here. He is represented by the Foley Gallery in New York.

His work is on view through June 14 at Jen Bekman Gallery in New York.
