Having spent much of his life in metropolitan Detroit, MI, Kevin Bauman developed a fascination for the urban decay that is uniquely Detroit. Having heard the stories of how great the city once was from his parents, grandmother, and great-grandmother, he always wondered how a once great city could fall so far. His interest in both photography and sociology has driven his desire to document Detroit in his own way, hopefully telling a story that helps bring some understanding to the hard hit area.
Kevin currently splits his time between Detroit, Denver, and DC, working as a photographer and a web developer. Most of his personal work focuses on Detroit, while his commercial and editorial work includes architecture, interiors, and environmental portraiture.
