Lara Wechsler is a New York-based street photographer. Wechsler uses a wide-angle lens in order to avoid postcard compositions. She seeks the rawness, claustrophobia, and congestion of the city. She relishes the moments when people or objects get in the way of the otherwise "perfect" shot.

Wechsler is currently a cooperative member of a small artist-run gallery, 440 Gallery, and also a member of the Brooklyn Arts Council and the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition.
