Michael Scoggins was born in Washington, DC, and received his MFA in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. His work has been exhibited widely, and he has received solo exhibitions at Hilger Contemporary in Vienna, Austria, and Freight + Volume in New York. Scoggins' work is in numerous public and private collections, most notably in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. He currently works and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
So American It Hurts, an exhibition of new works on paper, is on view at Quality Pictures Contemporary Art in Portland through Election Day, November 4. Read a review of the show in a recent issue of Artkrush.
