Namrita Bachchan was born in 1976 in Bombay and educated in Switzerland and England before pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and art history at the Rhode Island School of Design. She then completed a degree in graphic design at the Parsons School of Design in New York. She has remained in Mumbai since 2003. Bachchan has previously exhibited in select group shows in the US and the UK; her first solo show in India was in November 2004 at the Museum Gallery in Mumbai.
