Noah Kalina is an art and editorial photographer living in Brooklyn, NY. His photographs have appeared in numerous publications including New York magazine, Interview, Esquire, Blender, and Seed. He has also shown in numerous group shows in galleries and museums around the world.
Kalina is best known for his self-portrait project called "everyday" — a time-lapse video of self portraits taken every day over the course of 6.5 years. It has been viewed over 11 million times on YouTube and was even the subject of a.Simpsons parody. Many have told him that his work is done, as there is no greater honor that can be bestowed on a living person.
That aside, Kalina continues to work on various personal projects, all in various states of progress, so he hates to discuss them out of a fear that he'll jinx their inevitable success. He has also been photographing himself daily for nine years. This week's covers are presented in collaboration with Flak Photo. Flak Photo is a photography website featuring distinctive work from an international community of contributors that promotes unique visual perspectives of the world and celebrates the art of exhibiting quality photography online. The blogzine is produced by Andy Adams and features work from new photo essays, book projects, and gallery exhibitions from established and emerging photographers. Available online at Flak Photo.
