Working in movies since college, south London-based Robin Gautier is unconcerned that he's stuck in his own private Odeon. "I've been experimenting with 16mm anamorphic lenses that fit the Leica. It's great until you get to the 'unsqueeze' part in Photoshop — that requires serious patience." Robin is keen to challenge the idea that his hometown is an unrewarding subject. "So what if Bresson couldn't take a good picture in London? It leaves it open for the rest of us."
