Scott Anderson lives and works in Chicago. His work has been shown internationally, in solo and group exhibitions, at venues such as Kavi Gupta Gallery, Chicago/Leipzig; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Cranbrook Art Museum, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; Mark Moore Gallery, Santa Monica; Galerie Jean-Luc & Takako Richard, Paris; Light & Sie Gallery, Dallas; and FA Projects, London.
Anderson possesses a deep fascination with hero worship, cults, ritualistic behavior, utopias, and all other systems designed by humankind to provide some greater purpose. His simultaneous reverence and skepticism of such systems is demonstrated through painting — a discipline that has its own set of champions, followers, agnostics, and heretics.
Anderson received his BFA from Kansas State University and his MFA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Scott Anderson's work is currently on view in the West, Wester, Westest show at Fecal Face Dot Gallery in San Francisco. Click here to read our listing.
