Stefan Sagmeister is a graphic designer and typographer based in New York City. He runs the design firm Sagmeister Inc.
Sagmeister is a long-standing collaborator of musicians David Byrne and Lou Reed. In 2005, he received a Grammy Award in the Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package category for designing the Once in a Lifetime boxed set by the Talking Heads.
Solo shows of Sagmeister Inc.'s work have been mounted in Zurich, Vienna, New York, Berlin, Tokyo, Osaka, Prague, Cologne, and Seoul. Sagmeister currently teaches in the graduate department of the School of Visual Art in New York and holds the Frank Stanton Chair at New York's Cooper Union School of Art.
He is the author of the design monograph Made You Look, which was published by Booth-Clibborn Editions in 2001. His second monograph, Things I have learned in my life so far, was published by Harry N. Abrams in 2008.
