A Jewish-Chinese Christmas with food, fun and an auction to raise money for the Philippines
Like brothers from another mother, the Jews and Chinese have forged an indisputable bond. It could be over their similar traditions and values, or perhaps its just due to their common love for chinese food and mahjong. Whatever the case, their mutual admiration is celebrated tonight at Woks and Lox. Now in its third year, this party brings together the best of both cultures for schmoozing, eating and games. In the kitchen, you'll find Chef Chichi and Noah Arenstein of Scharf & Zoyer cooking up delicacies like corned beef reuben wontons, chicken gizzard fried rice, and kugel with XO sauce. SingleCut is supplying beer made from matzoh and sichuan peppercorns. And, after you've had your fill of food and merriment, the evening concludes with an auction where the proceeds go towards relief efforts in the Philippines.
