Love And All Her Friends, and she’s got a lot of them. Wonder. Hope. Fulfillment. Faith. Jealousy. Resentment. Guilt.
483 GALLERY is pleased to present Love And All Her Friends, a solo exhibition by contemporary expressionist painter Brendan Murphy. For this exhibition, Gallery 483 offers a retrospective of the artist’s work, a visual treat in the exploration of movement and color as a means of expression. Using linear form and geometric shapes, Brendan fuses mathematical imagery with softer, feminine figures, exposing the inner conflict of wild emotion versus sustained logic. Working primarily with large format canvas, Murphy’s paintings display an effortless blending of gouache, oil and acrylic paint to create floating backgrounds, moving pieces, and a push/pull multi-dimensional visual experience. A former student of renowned painter Eric Fischl, Brendan Murphy has been painting for over ten years and is featured in over 500 private and public art collections.
Love And All Her Friends highlights the opening of the 483 Gallery in Williamsburg and seeks to reflect the energy and growth of our vibrant neighborhood. With a focus on authenticity, Gallery 483 pays respect to the creative process by displaying works that reflect artistic ingenuity and passion. While Brendan Murphy's work serves as the foundation of 483 Gallery, the gallery will also be featuring some of Brooklyn's top emerging artists. Through the consistent, unyielding search of unique works of art, Gallery 483 celebrates the breadth of human experience and the noble pursuit of one’s passions.
