Since their sold-out debut recital in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, The Malkin Duo, comprised of sisters Anat Malkin Almani on violin and viola and Bracha Malkin on violin, has given recitals in Argentina, Colombia, Israel, Italy, throughout the United States and in Uruguay. Their performances have brought rave reviews and have been broadcast on international television and radio. The Duo has given the world-premiere of David Ward-Steinman’s Concerto for Two Violins in Sherwood Auditorium in La Jolla, California; has performed with members of the Israel Chamber Orchestra in the Tel-Aviv Museum and has soloed with orchestras worldwide. The Duo has also been the winner of numerous competitions, including the 2003 Trinity Concert Series Auditions, which entitled the sister duo to a recital in St. Paul’s Chapel at Ground Zero in New York. The Duo also performs annually as guest artists at the Academy of Music Festival in Nyack, New York.
Described as “a pianist with wonderful firm, clear touch” (New York Times), “fascinating interpreter (Tagblat, Germany), “artist of depth and virtuosity” (The Time Argus, USA) received her musical education in Lithuania at the Ciurlionis School of Arts, Israel’s Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv University, and The Juilliard School in New York.
