Our favorite singing cat plays the Brooklyn Masonic Temple
Last year, Cat Power (aka Chan Marshall) emerged a new with Sun, her ninth studio, and first record of new material since 2006's The Greatest. An assured and aurally enchanting effort, the record was produced and financed by Marshall. Embraced by fans, unfortunately the record's beauty didn't equate to smooth sailing for the Atlanta-born singer, who, following the record's release, canceled a string of dates due to bankruptcy and her health struggle with angioedema. Now, a year later, it appears the singer is on more solid footing and embarking on a string of US dates. Billed as a solo tour, Marshall performs two shows tonight (the late show still has tickets!) at Brooklyn Masonic Temple. Talented multi-instrumentalist Nico Turner opens.
