Comedian/weatherman Fritz Coleman presents an evening of laughs.
If, like most native Angelenos, you grew up a casualty of local TV news, Fritz Coleman is a celebrity. If you don't know who he is, now's the chance to finally get to know a longtime mainstay of the SoCal weather-forecasting scene. Yes, news is serious business, and Coleman first entered into our homes in the early '80s by injecting humor and wry wit into what was an otherwise sober regional rundown: NBC's Channel 4 News. It takes a lot of guts to be funny amidst reports of homicides, car chases, and drug-deals-gone-wrong, yet Coleman has managed. The multiple Emmy Award-winner, broadcasting icon, and "honorary Mayor of Toluca Lake" takes it to the stage tonight at Lewis Family Playhouse.
