Tim Curry is one of those rare actors—like John Malkovich, Crispin Glover, and Willem Dafoe—that seems untouchable, almost alien. Elusive, enigmatic, and effortlessly cool, he remains a mysterious figure when it comes to his private life. His public life, however, has seen him take on a range of offbeat, oddball roles that have won him a fiercely loyal following of fans enamored with his eccentric performances that are often overtly kinky and/or quirky. Tonight, Cinefamily welcomes the acclaimed actor to take part in a Q&A before screening the legendary cult film in which he portrays the unforgettable Dr. Frank-N-Furter: The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Alas, the screening is a non-"shadow cast" one (read: no live interaction, audience participation, or onstage reenactments), so hardcore fans may want to opt for seats in the shadows if they can't contain themselves from whispering along call backs and, when prompted with the cue "Brad Majors," let out—albeit as a muffled, barely audible yelp—the obligatory response: "asshole!")
The Rocky Horror Picture Show Dir. Jim Sharman, 1975, DCP, 98 min.
