Arrive early for the pre-show, which includes a guest burlesque artist.
Tired of celebrity exhibitionists like Miley, Rihanna and Gwyneth? The Tim Tam Room is the place for you! The burlesque club has taken over Ars Nova for "Eager To Lose", a night of fun and flesh. Part floor show, part play, the fast-talking farce takes place as star-owner Tansy (played by Tansy, co-creator and choreographer) gives her farewell performance. What exactly she's leaving for would spoil the show's outrageous pop culture premise. Thrown into the backstage drama is a love story, rivalry, sabotage, and, of course, the art of the striptease. Outside of the cheesy dirty jokes (occasionally made at the expense of Anthony Weiner), all dialogue is spoken in verse - playwright Matthew-Lee Erlbach's tribute to Gypsy Rose Lee, who recited poetry as part of her act. Tansy and her girls Glinda (Emily Walton) and Trixie (Stacey Yen) are fan-(there are plenty)-tastic dancers. Equally winning are John Behlmann as the MC who wears his heart on his torn sleeve and Richard Saudek as Peeps, the dancing whirlwind of a fall guy.
