An exhibition showcasing 36 dishes representing the authentic foods available in Alabama
One of the great culinary capitals of the South, the cuisine of Alabama is the focus of a week-long exhibit at Chelsea Market. The art-gallery-style pop up showcases delectable photographs of 36 dishes that represent the array of food available in the state that prides itself on its fresh fish, succulent barbecue and family recipes. And for those that need more convincing of Alabama's culinary prowess, the state boasts several James Beard Award winners and semi-finalists including Frank Stitt of Highlands Bar and Grill, Chris Hastings of Hot and Hot Fish Club, and Nick Pihakis of Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q. A few lucky visitors will walk away with food-themed goodies, and the exhibit also features a smartphone application, 100 Dishes To Eat in Alabama Before You Die, which can be downloaded even if you don't make it over to the exhibit.
