Hirschberg serves up his take on bar food
Rather than stew until next summer, the boys behind the ever popular BBQ Blowout have teamed up with Pork Slope to present a new indoor series, Bar Food Blowout. The premise is quite simple: chefs are invited to cook up their own interpretation of bar food. Guests (or shall we say guinea pigs) should know not to expect your garden variety mozzarella sticks, nachos and buffalo wings at this chowdown. Stepping up to the stove for the series' second edition is Colicchio protégé and Craftbar executive chef Lauren Hirschberg. A cool $20 covers a tasty plate of food, a Brooklyn Brewery beer with a side shot of Powers Whiskey and the evening's musical refreshment, which tonight finds XNY on the decks.
