With the days of freedom fries thankfully a distant memory, you can get back to appreciating all that is good about France. The wine, the cheese, the crêpes, the macarons — it's all paraded today at Bastille Day on 60th Street, New York's biggest annual public celebration marking France's independence. Spanning three Upper East Side blocks, this year's family-friendly festivities include French mime acts, a Citroën Classic Car Show, Can-Can Dancers, and the Hungry March Band. You can also indulge your taste buds with some French fare at wine, cheese and cocktail tastings hosted at FIAF throughout the day (tickets required). Best grab a beret, brush up on "La Mareillaise," and make your way over to this culturally rich soiree tout suite, it only comes by once a year.
