Since it first launched in the Bay Area in 2006, Maker Faires now span the globe as flagship celebrations of do-it-yourself ingenuity and the boundless possibilities of creativity in action. Over the weekend, hundreds of Bay Area makers will showcase their passions with workshops, lectures, exhibits and games. Handmade chocolates? You bet. Singing Tesla coils? Obviously. Plate armor for cats and dogs? Why not? This weekend, there’s a little something for everyone.
