Cameron Crowe's real life high school adventures are wined, dined and screened tonight
Nitehawk Cinema Presents:
Beer, Dinner and a Movie with Lagunitas Brewing Company
“Fast Times at Ridgemont High”
Featuring an ensemble cast of future stars, Amy Heckerling’s Fast Times is essentially a multitude of teenage love triangles and tribulations.
For Nitehawk’s September Beer, Dinner and a Movie, we’ve teamed up with Lagunitas Brewing Company to present Fast Times at Ridgemont High. This screening will include select delicious Lagunitas drafts paired with a food menu inspired by the film. The best part? You’ll be served each course during the specific moments that inspired the film so you can experience edible sensations while watching the action unfold on-screen!
If such a thing exists, Fast Times at Ridgemont High is the best and perhaps only sophisticated sex teen comedy. Based on the real life adventures of Cameron Crowe (author of the book of the same name), Fast Times chronicles a school year for a group of Southern California students. Mall culture of the 1980s provides the perfect backdrop for these characters as they look for love, some sex, and to score some weed. Note: aside from Sean Penn’s now classic Spicoli character, look out for the brief early film appearance of Nicolas Cage, then billed as Nicolas Coppola!
