Hey designers! Writers don’t just fill the empty bits with words. They can help you tell a story. They help clarify what things stand for and what they do. They can distill a complex jumble of ideas into one simple sentence that makes people want to know more. They can find the perfect name that invites an audience in. They can help you focus and edit. They can, in short, make you a better designer.
As EVP, Managing Director, Copywriting for R/GA New York, Chapin Clark is responsible for creative concepts and messaging across client engagements for a range of diverse marketing platforms. Chapin assembles and directs the copywriting talent needed to create a distinct tone and voice—and exceptional work—for each project.
He joined R/GA in 2001 as a senior copywriter on the ibm.com account, working on numerous site builds and promotional campaigns for IBM’s software and server divisions. Since then, Chapin has helped create online advertising, CRM programs, and site content for clients such as Nestlé Purina PetCare, SC Johnson and Barnes & Noble. He also serves as the voice of R/GA on Twitter, commenting on industry trends and events, media, technology, and culture.
