LA standup comedian Brock Wilbur is taping his second hour-long special in San Francisco. On September 20th, the nationally touring comic will take the stage at Cynic Cave, the secret comedy venue in the basement of one of the last indie video rental stores in the country, Lost Weekend Video. The event is free (with free booze and special guests) but due to extremely limited seating only the first fifty people will be admitted.
Keeping with the theme of the location, the entire special will be shot on VHS and Beta tapes, copying over some of the unwanted tapes from the store. The filming, which follows up his 2012 release "Brock Wilbur: 28 Years Later", will be directed by SF experimental video artist Patrick Wilkinson.
Friday, September 20th at 9pm at Lost Weekend Video:

Brock Wilbur is a 6’7″ twenty-something white male from Los Angeles trying his best not to be part of the problem. He was raised in Kansas and drank himself to death in Chicago indie bands, so the odds aren’t in his favor.
We recommend Brock Wilbur if you’ve ever experienced the following symptoms:
- Anxiety from having too many ideas in your brain
- Delusions of pop-culture superiority
- Breaking someone’s heart to learn how it works
- Recurring thoughts of escapism
- Fear of a darkness that dwells inside you
- Book reading
If you believe you are a good candidate for Brock Wilbur, we prescribe his one-hour comedy special 28 Years Later or his books Exquisite Corpse and FILMPOCALYPSE!
In the Los Angeles area he produces bad-ass shows, the weekly brock party podcast, the Ready! SET Art!!! web-series, and previously booked comedy for the prestigious Hollywood Fringe Festival.
