The largest free literary event in the Northeast returns
It's times again for the bookish set to descend on Brooklyn to take part in the largest free literary event in the Northeast. Now in its eighth year, the Brooklyn Book Festival is international in scope, but still has a community feel. Throughout the day, come browse the stands in Borough Hall Plaza for new, old and rare titles. Or, hit up one of the more than 90 panels, workshops or readings taking place across the festival's 14 stages. Over 340 authors are slated to participate, including A.M. Homes, Jules Feiffer, Sapphire, Jonathan Ames, Nick Flynn, Sam Lipsyte, Toure, Adam Mansbach, Art Spiegelman, Tom Wolfe, Phillip Lopate, Chuck Klosterman, Eddie Huang, Jamaica Kincaid, Nicholson Baker, and Colum McCann. Additionally, in the week leading up to Sunday's festivities, over 60 events are planned for all over the city. Check the festival website for all the exciting happenings.
