Piper Kerman, who’s memoir Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison inspired the hit Netflix series of (almost) the same name, joins journalist and author Nancy Mullane in conversation at the Nourse Theater. Since her incarceration, Kerman has become a vocal advocate for prison reform and political consultant, and with the success of the series based on her experiences, something of a celebrity. Tonight’s lecture is a benefit for the Prison University Project, a nonprofit that provides adult education to those incarcerated at San Quentin.
