PS 122's annual winter festival full of exciting new performances
For those up for a bold and brain-tingling adventure, we recommend wrapping your head around COIL, the annual festival organized by renowned contemporary performance incubator PS 122. Now in its ninth year, this 16-day affair animates a number of theatrical spaces in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens with groundbreaking works from the worlds of dance, theatre, and performance art. With many making their New York debut, standouts from this year include the return of Tina Satter's House of Dance, Phil Soltanoff's exercise in post-human theater, An Evening with William Shatner Asterisk, and Tyson vs. Ali, which realizes the greatest heavyweight-boxing match that never happened. Also part of the festival is the Red + White Party at SPiN, where you can drink, play ping pong and mingle with COIL artists. Check out this teaser to learn more about how this year's COIL unravels.
