Calling all MCM aficionados (that's "Mid-Century Modern" for ye novice collectors and neophytes) and Rosebowl regulars: Downtown Modernism is back! Following the success of last year's inaugural "outdoor marketplace for vintage modern artifacts," the day-long modernist extravaganza is returning to DTLA, much to the delight of aspiring hipsters, retro revivalists, savvy collectors, and serious connoisseurs. In addition to 60+ recognized dealers of quality furniture, art, and decor (including Danish Modern NoHo, Conscious Home, and Modern One) dating back to the "mid-century" period (of the 20th century, though the style saw its origins as early as 1933 and culminated in 1965), the vintage treasure trove features food vendors, a gourmet coffee kiosk, an organic ice-cream stand, and an on-site adoption booth for those thrift hounds amongst you who can't resist taking a furry friend home with you along with your newly-purchased vintage furniture.
