The West Coast's largest modern design event.
Design fans should head downtown this weekend for Dwell on Design, America's largest modern design event. Staged at the Los Angeles Convention Center and curated by the editors of Dwell, the three-day celebration shines the spotlight on the most fabulous design trends from emerging and established modern designers. Highlights this year include a keynote kick-off address from architect Michael Graves, an audience-interactive atelier creating move-in kits for L.A.'s formerly homeless and recently housed (hosted by artist-in-residence Tanya Aguiniga, and the exhibition's perennial favorite, Dwell Home Tours, a design ride through L.A's coolest homes. Highlights this year include the Tattuplex (http://www.latimes.com/features/home/la-lh-tattuplex-photos,0,1646854.photogallery), an all-steel custom pre-fab home atop a cast-in-place concrete foundation, recently featured in the L.A. Times. Don't miss it.
