Ever Gold gallery celebrates five years w/ a group show feat. Barry McGee, Monica Canilao, and more
In January of 2009, Andrew McClintock opened Ever Gold Gallery on the ground floor of a Tenderloin residence hotel, in a space vacated by a storefront of the same name that hocked gold teeth and grills. The tiny space, demure as it may appear from outside, has hosted some of the best exhibits in the city since it opened its doors, artists like Sandy Kim and Adam Parker Smith, as well as numerous group shows by San Francisco’s legion of upstarts. For its five year anniversary, Ever Gold is cramming 80 pieces from the likes of Barry McGee, Ben Venom, Monica Canilao, PEZ, Sandy Kim and dozens more into a 500 square foot gallery for one of the most epic openings San Francisco has seen in a long, long time.
