After 10 shows at CMJ,the eccentric Aussie rocker is back for more
After wowing the indie-rock minions at CMJ, the Aussie crooner is back for another go at 285 Kent. Former guitarist for the Sydney-based rock group Mercy Arms, Kirin J. Callinan decided to go it alone after the band split in 2009. His solo debut, Embracism, produced by Kim Moyes and mixed by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear, dropped earlier this year and sounds like it came from place just beyond our sonic solar system. Tonight, as you prepare to have you musical palette realigned by the eccentric deep-voiced rocker, Norwegian singer Jenny Hval performs selections from her sexually explicit songbook. DJ T-Hawk (aka Flavorwire music editor Tom Hawking) spins throughout the night.
