A select group from the UCLA band the Big Kitchen, the Kitchenette is an acoustic reggae/rocksteady/ska group that blends American and Jamaican folk and popular music. In a set reminiscent of the early days of reggae and first-wave ska, they pay homage to greats such as Desmond Dekker, Alton Ellis, and Bob Marley, and are inspired by modern artists such as Vic Ruggiero and Chris Murray. Audiences are invited to dance, sing along, and join the Kitchenette in a feast of merrymaking that will tide you over until spring quarter.
