Albeit short, it's already been a weird and wild ride for buzzed about Los Angeles-brewed band Foxygen. Governed by an appreciation for music from the 60s and 70s, the group, who have been touring in support of We are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic (2013), deliver a psychedelic sound that is playful yet respectful of their sonic forefathers. If you dig on the Rolling Stones, Velvet Underground or Bowie, Foxygen's songs should absorb quickly into your bloodstream. Their live shows have also become infamous. Frontman Sam France was so fired up at one July gig that he took a terrible stage spill, resulting in a fractured tibia and fibula. Back out on the road, France, Foxygen co-creator Jonathan Rado, and crew pull into New York for two shows with Ben Chatrer and Jungle Green in tow.
