Fran Lebowitz in Conversation with Martin ScorseseBAM Howard Gilman Opera House (30 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, NY) Map it $35
One of the universe's greatest talkers comes to BAM tonight to dish with her pal, Academy Award-winning film director, writer and producer Martin Scorsese. Fran Lebowitz, who Scorsese captured brilliantly in his 2010 HBO documentary Public Speaking, is blazingly opinionated and utterly entertaining. Author of two books of essays, Metropolitan Life (1978) and Social Studies (1981), Lebowitz possesses a distinct New York sensibility and is known for hilarious critiques of American life. Suffering from what she calls "writer's blockade" for a number of years, there are rumors that she's back at work on her much-anticipated novel Exterior Signs of Wealth. All may be revealed tonight at what is sure to be an extraordinary and candid conversation.
