Founding member of Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts and Dum Dum Girls, Frankie Rose is dream pop heaven

Brooklyn based Frankie Rose’s musical history reads like a who’s-who list of woozy New York City fuzz pop ‘bands to watch.’ As a founding member of Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts, and then Dum Dum Girls, Rose had already established herself as an integral part of the East Coast music scene by the time she struck out with a group of her own on 2010’s “Frankie Rose and the Outs.” While her eponymous debut proved her prowess not just as a collaborator but as a solo performer and songwriter in her own right, and her second LP as Frankie Rose, “Interstellar,” earned her a ‘Best New Music’ distinction from Pitchfork, and easily stands up to any of her earlier work with other bands: a reverb drenched and cinematic dream pop album filled with dissonant harmonies and spacious production that’ll lodge itself in your head once you hear it, and stay there for a long time to come.
