Free Valentine’s Evening Art Tour on the Metro Gold Line with Mike the Poet

This Valentine's Day, take a sunset art tour and fall in love with Metro. The free one night only tour looks at artworks in the Metro system through the lens of poet Mike Sonksen, also known as Mike the Poet, a third-generation Los Angeles native who is known for his poetry performances, writings and unique city tours blending poetry and history.

General Information

Tour takes place on Friday, February 14 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Tour departs from the information booth at the Alameda Street entrance to Union Station at 5:30 p.m.

Tour ends at Kings Row Gastropub in Old Pasadena at 7 p.m. Tour participants can save $5 off of their meal there by showing their valid TAP card to the cashier. Visit metro.net/discounts for details about this and other special discounts for Metro riders.

The tour is approximately 90% walking. There are elevators and escalators in all of the stations.

Public restrooms are available at Union Station.

This Valentine’s Day, take a sunset art tour and fall in love with Metro. The free, one night only tour, looks at artworks in the Metro system through the lens of a poet. Mike Sonksen, also known as Mike the Poet, is a third-generation Los Angeles native who is known for his poetry performances, writings and unique city tours blending poetry and history. Sonksen is the author of I AM ALIVE IN LOS ANGELES! and writes a weekly column for KCET,LA Letters, which celebrates literary Los Angeles. Tour begins at the information booth at the Alameda Street entrance to historic Union Station. Tour ends at Kings Row Gastropub in Old Pasadena, where tour participants save $5 off of the bill by showing their valid TAP card to the cashier.

Free tours are offered the first Thursday, Saturday and Sunday of every month. No reservations are required!
