In partnership with the National Geographic Society, the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens welcomes Angelenos to participate in The Great Nature Project, a worldwide celebration of the planet and its wonders. people of all ages are invited to take and share snapshots of the L.A. Zoo's animals and plant life to illustrate the diversity they represent on our planet. The goal of the Great Nature Project is to create a virtual photo album of the world’s biodiversity, and to set a Guinness World Record title in the process. Visitors to the Zoo can participate in the Great Nature Project by simply using the hashtag #GreatNature and #LAZoo and uploading their photos to various social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, and Flickr. To contribute to the National Geographic’s campaign to set the Guinness World Record for the largest online album of animal photos, participants should add #animal to their posts. The Zoo will share its own photos on Instagram, which guests can follow at @thelosangeleszoo. For younger children, National Geographic has created MYSHOT, a safe and moderated forum for uploading and sharing photos, available at http://kids-myshot.nationalgeographic.com/.
